A BIG THANK YOU to all who helped make the day a huge success. The Big Give brought the Indianola Historical Society $12,675 in gifts. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful, supportive community.
Come join us for Indianola’s annual Old Settler’s celebration, held the 2nd Saturday of every August.

Upcoming Projects
We have many projects in the works. Any and all assistance–physical, financial, or otherwise–in moving our vision forward is greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you are interested in helping out.
- School house exterior needs re-stuccoed and windows need repaired.
A big thanks to Griff Malleck and Tom Manker for all the work they put into re-modeling the interior, as well as to all who have donated original items. - Blacksmith shop needs a walk-through door and other safety features.
We are ensuring the building is up to code for all fire and safety hazards. - Many items and equipment are required to transform the blacksmith shop into a working location for classes and demonstrations.
- Move and re-furbish the Pawnee Squaw gravesite and historical marker from the city park to our corner lot.
